Hi Mod team,
Setting up a thread
Love that you've XML'ed everything we need.
Not sure how to make own mods know, I'm more of an 'editor' than a modder
Launch parameter/config file... How to start OWTC with non-reference mod?
Quoting Soren_Johnson, reply 3 Then launch the game and choose your mod in the Options screen.
Mod Conflicts?
Quoting Soren_Johnson, reply 3 After that, the game will use the xml's found in your mod folder. Any xml not found in your mod will default to the internal version of that xml, so I would remove any xmls you don't need so that you don't have to merge all of our changes every patch.
Is it possible to mod the campaign yet? If so how?
Any chance of some text/explanation available for the more vague parameters?
After responses from the team I'll update/edit the OP.
Bit of an FAQ for modders. Or for more basic 'editors' like me

Sorry we didn't reply. I forwarded the messages onto those who are more knowledgable than myself and we should get this ball rolling soon.
Thanks!

If you open up the install folder and go into the mods folder, you will find a reference folder with a copy of the regular game's xmls. Copy that folder and rename to the name of your mod. Then launch the game and choose your mod in the Options screen. After that, the game will use the xml's found in your mod folder. Any xml not found in your mod will default to the internal version of that xml, so I would remove any xmls you don't need so that you don't have to merge all of our changes every patch. You guys are blazing new trails, so expect some rough spots.

I can't stress how much, as a student level programmer, putting these files into a mod directory and making it an option in the options to enable is helpful in in the modding process for someone like me. Thank you so much.

I think a Dune / CHOAM mod could fit well with OTC.

I'm really glad that this game looks to have an excellent mod compatibility, I remember playing civ 4 mods at least a thousand hours during high school , more than any other game, I would just sometimes just only play them for several months during free time.
So I really hope this game will get a similar mod support, and far as it looks (the simplicity of the setup) it looks promising

Are there any plans to support UI modding?

So I created a mod by editing the XMLs and putting them into a mod folder, but it isn't showing up under Options... what's happening? The explanatory post above is a bit vague ("Copy that folder"... which folder? Data? Reference?), has anyone managed to make their mod tests show on Options?
