FAQ’s for Pancake Mix Biscuits
Can I use any type of pancake mix to make biscuits?
While most major pancake mix brands can be used to make biscuits, it’s best to choose a plain or buttermilk pancake mix without added flavors or mix-ins for optimal results. Our favorite is the Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix or Bisquick Pancake Mix.
How to Store Biscuits
Keep your biscuits in an airtight container or zippered freezer bag, in a cool and dark place.
Can I freeze these homemade buttermilk biscuits?
Yes, you can freeze biscuit dough made from pancake mix. Shape the dough into individual biscuits, place them on a baking sheet, and freeze until firm. Then transfer the frozen biscuits to a resealable bag and store in the freezer for up to 3 months. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
How to Reheat Biscuits
Place your biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment or sprayed with non stick cooking spray and heat them at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes, giving them a quarter turn half way through.
